The Wild and Free team were back on the Iditarod trail this season, and we couldn’t be more excited about it. It was fun to follow a very different race than Yukon Quest (trail, competition and weather wise especially), and needless to say we were super happy to see the team do so well out there! Brent and 13 dogs crossed the finish line in Nome March 18th at 08:57:47. The 13 dogs finishing the race with Brent were; Jeep, Lucy, Woody, Pink, Slater, Morello, Jackson, Figment, Arlo, Kutuk, Josephine, Evo and Sluice. Treason was dropped in McGrath for a sore tricep and recovered fast with our amazing friends Ben and Nora in Anchorage.
We also had a crew of Wild and Free dogs with our friend Tom Frode Johansen (bib # 39). Tom Frode finished in 19 place with four Wild and Free dogs on the line – Jip, Hero, Tobuk and Chica. Draco also ran with Tom Frode from start to White Mountain. We’re so happy for Tom Frode (this was his first Iditarod) and thankful for him taking such great care of our dogs and giving them this super positive race experience.
