Sulfur is part of the “Elements” litter which come from my main man Silver and a dog named Chicken, who I got from Lance Mackey. When I was first getting my Kennel started, I bought a few dogs from Lance Mackey and in the deal he threw in Chicken. She was a tiny, nine-month old dog that he told me to breed with my big leader Silver. I did just that and have done it four times now and each time getting amazing dogs. All of the dogs out of the Silver and Chicken litter are named after Elements on the periodic table. Sulfur and his siblings are the 4th generation of “Elements” and like his brothers before him, he is showing lots of potential. Sulfur is a slender, fast trotting Yearling that came on strong during our annual Arctic trip last spring, and showed me he has what it takes to be a successful sled dog. Like all the “Elements,” his happy-go-lucky attitude makes him a joy to train. In 2016, he fell behind in training because of some soreness, so he never got to race but he bounced back and was a force again in the Arctic. I really look forward to watching Sulfur live up to his potential in this year’s race training.
