August is here, which means we’ve got some fun updates for you!

Fall_training

With the temperatures dropping, training is in full swing! We are so happy to be back out running the dogs in harness, and we know the dogs are equally as happy (if not happier) about it!

August 4th marked the official signup date for Yukon Quest and we made the trip in to Fairbanks and the Yukon Quest office to sign up. We are super excited to be a part of the 2019 Yukon Quest again after a year off.Fairbanks Daily News-Miner was at the signup event, and you can read what they have to say about it (including quotes from Brent) here.

We want to send out a big thank you to Kay Lawson who sponsored the Quest entry fee for Wild and Free, and a big thank you to you all who are following us on this journey. We truly love what we do, and we love to share this life with you all!

Elliott Hwy scenery during drive home from town.

With winter coming closer we are getting going with hauling supplies out to the homestead. We make multiple town trips to get fuel, dog food and other supplies while the road is open all the way to the homestead.

Blueberries

We also make sure to take advantage of what nature has to give. Blueberries are ripe right now, and we’re loving getting out there picking them!

Stay tuned for more updates from Wild and Free in the near future!
