How to Support Wild and Free Mushing

Annual Dog Sponsorship Program

Every summer, this program allows fans to pick one of the dogs in the Wild and Free Mushing Kennel as “their own” for the race and touring seasons. The money raised helps to cover many race expenses, Kennel operations, food and other health supplies that are needed to get through the season. These dogs eat and run a lot, so they need the best care and attention. As a Dog Sponsor, you get your name on the Wild and Free Mushing website and some Wild and Free Mushing promo material as a thank you for your support (gifts change annually), but most of all, an amazing canine athlete will be thankful. Some fans choose to sponsor the same dog year-after-year so they can watch their dog’s progression, others wait for the new puppy litters so they can sponsor a new dog each year. Either way, the Wild and Free Mushing team is thankful for your support.  It’s a great honor to work with these dogs every year and do what we do, and thanks to fans like you, we get the opportunity to can continue on this great path.

There are different sponsorship levels depending on where the dog is at in his or her racing career. We also adjust our dog sponsorship program to ensure the maximum number of individual sponsors and a wide variety of sponsorship levels.  Whether it is a Retired dog or a Main Race Team dog, the support is very helpful and allows our “human” team to spend as much time as possible with the dogs, which equals more success for the team!

$1,500 Sponsorship

This sponsorship is reserved for the “main man” himself, Silver, who is the beginning of the Wild and Free Mushing Kennel. Silver has now been retired from racing for 7 years, but is still the leader and can always be found roaming “wild and free” in his retirement.

$500 Sponsorship

This sponsorship level is for the Main Race Team, the leaders at the Wild and Free Mushing Kennel. These dogs have traveled many miles and have years of race experience under their belts. They may not be selected to run each race throughout the race season, but they have more than earned their status and spot on the Main Race Team.

$300 Sponsorship

This sponsorship level is for the Yearlings in the Wild and Free Mushing Kennel. These are the young rising stars of the Kennel and are in training for the next racing and touring season.

$250 Sponsorship

This sponsorship level is for the Retired dogs at the Wild and Free Mushing Kennel. These dogs have gone the distance more than once in their racing careers and have earned the right to live out their retirement mentoring the younger dogs and roaming free around the Kennel.

$150 Sponsorship

This sponsorship level is for the new Puppies at the Wild and Free Mushing Kennel. These cute little fur balls are what we look forward to every season. They are full of energy and curiosity, and are just starting to experience the world and learning what it is like to be born a sled dog.

Dog Booties Donation

Each year, Wild and Free Mushing strives to improve upon the previous race season as well as be more prepared and efficient.  Dog booties are a big part of training and racing sled dogs, and we are very excited to have major support from DogBooties.com. The training and race seasons are long and we use over 8,000 dog booties throughout each season, so if you would like to support Wild and Free Mushing with a few of the dog booties needed, see below and thank you for your continued support!

A special thank you to DogBooties.com for making our booties, and for the generous donation each year to kick-off our training season.
