Mendez

Mendez is part of the “Orange is the New Black” litter whose parents are Basin and Celia. Basin was the 2015 Yukon Quest Golden Harness Winner and Celia has been a solid race dog in my team for four years. Not to mention, she is also a Silver and Madonna puppy! I am very excited about this litter and their future as successful sled dogs. Not only do they have very unique and awesome color and personalities, but they proved last year as puppies that they love their job and do it with tons of focus and intensity! Mendez is definitely one of the standouts in this litter. He showed a lot of potential in 2015 in the leader position in our annual Arctic trip, and that mixed with his happy-go-lucky attitude and pure focus when he is running, makes him a favorite in the Kennel. He put in a great season in 2016, but due to a slight injury we kept him off the race trail to make sure he fully healed. He came back stronger then ever in this year’s annual Arctic trip, and I believe Mendez will be fighting for a spot on our race team in 2017.
